Please feel free to join commedia; a personal project of mine, aiming to review and analyze comics (and other selected media) that feature DC Comics' The Joker.
It is currently a WIP because I am still going through my 500+ hardcopy!issues collection. I do not download torrents/scans.
I'd like to point out that currently I have two polls up for debate, as can be seen here explaining two routes the asylum's project can take. IE: spoiler free reviews, spoilerific reviews, and whatnot. =) Otherwise, the FAQ and The Rules are already up. The tags/memory post is still a WIP.
I am also open to affiliating with other comic book and/or Batman related asylums, except for RPGs. |

This was my entry to the "Weather/Vacation" challenge at qaf_challenges. It was beta'd by ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) testdog65, and it's about a very, very hot post-513 day in Pittsburgh.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the poll!
From the results, and the comments, I've decided to keep the challenges anonymous at this time. In order to make this strategy as effective as possible I'd like to ask that in future challenges authors do not name their betas when thanking them. Please save that for when you cross-post.
Also, I'm going to hold a yearly amnesty. Authors can submit fics they may have started for a challenge but ran out of time and didn't finish, or people can choose one of the past themes to write for. It will be like an annual Second Chance Challenge.
I'd like to run a new theme next, so the amnesty will take place after the next challenge. Speaking of which, due to popular demand I'm opening the next challenge up to graphics makers and vidders.
I'll also continue to post to both IJ and LJ at this time. |

“I’ll get it Ma!” Michael shouted up the stairs as the doorbell rang yet again on Halloween night.
“It’s past curfew, baby, so turn off the porch light after this group.” Shouting was a normal mode of conversation in the Novotny household.
“Trick or Treat Mikey!” Michael gaped for a moment and then pulled his bruised and bleeding best friend in the door. “Jesus Christ Brian, what the hell happened to you?”
“I wouldn’t share my candy so a big bully jumped me.” Michael nodded sadly at the hidden truth and hugged his friend tightly.
“I fucking hate Halloween, Mikey.” |

I felt like I somehow missed the real point of this conversation when Brian dragged me out of the bed saying, “We don’t have any time to waste.”
He must have seen the confusion in my eyes because he added
“You’re a bit slow today. No tricks means no masquerade for our dicks at Halloween. We just have to get tested now to make that happen.” |

It had been a busy night, and Jennifer was tired. She and Craig had taken Molly trick-or-treating, and even Justin had deigned to go along.
Molly was getting big enough to want to knock on doors by herself. Jennifer was loath to let her go, but Craig insisted that it would be okay. And in a show of brotherly…something, Justin walked with her. Molly even let Justin hold her hand, once she realized that she got more candy when he smiled.
Upon returning home, Justin hefted his bag onto the table. Having a little sister wasn’t so bad, after all. |

Justin opened the file Lindsay sent him and immediately called Brian. He’d barely stopped laughing when Brian answered the phone. “So have you seen the pictures?” he asked.
“It’s not funny,” Brian snapped. “What the fuck was Lindsay thinking?”
“Gus is eight,” Justin explained patiently. “I don’t think you can blame his costume choice on Lindsay this year.”
“There is no fucking way my son would voluntarily dress as a processed meat product.”
“He was a hotdog, Brian, you can say it. I wonder if Mel made him kosher?” Justin’s laugher almost drowned out the sound of the dial tone. |
