First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all of the American members! This topic came up during a car ride home with my roommate, so it seems a relevant good wish to make before proposing it haha
SO ANYWAY. My roommate and I were talking, and we came to the conclusion that every sex scene that has ever been in QAF was used as some sort of plot device or has been important to a character arc. We tried to stump each other with this theory, but couldn't do it! So I need to bring it to the bigger table. They're all aesthetic, of course, haha, but: do you all agree with this unproven theory? Was there a point to every one? Or was this another thing Cowlip couldn't get consistent? Feel free to point out any that you can't see the bigger picture~ behind or whatever. This holiday weekend I'll need some good entertainment.
(AND SPEAKING OF LONG WEEKENDS, if any of the members here are into the RP scene here on IJ, a small group of people and I are trying to put together a group storyline that would take place in real time and because I don't want to openly waste room advertising when it's just a side note here: the information on that is all here, if anyone is interested.) |

“Poor Justin. Suffering for your art.”
I snort. “Shut up. I know I shouldn’t complain, and I’ve sold three pieces already, so that’s good. I just wish I was there.”
“No worries, mate!” Brian says in a god-awful Australian accent. “I’ll stuff your turkey when you get back.”
I laugh. “Maybe I’ll stuff yours too.”
He lowers his voice. “Well, there’s something to be thankful for.” |

“Everyone name one thing that you’re thankful for this year. Em, honey, you wanna start?”
“Well, I’m thankful that business is good.”
“Brian?”
“I’m thankful that Justin didn’t lose any weight off his ass-“
He was rewarded with a smack upside the head from Deb.
“Mama?”
“Just a minute, Jenny,” Mel whispered.
“But Mama, I havta poop!”

First, Happy Thanksgiving to all!
A couple of new fandom friends don't know the origin of the name of the current celebration in ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) qaf_drabbles , "Gusmas," so I thought I'd explain.
Once upon a time, four fangirls wrote a story together, and the unbelievable url_girl illustrated it. (Well, we didn't write it, exactly -- it was divinely inspired, so it might be better said we channeled it.)
It was the story of Assbaby!Jesus (Gus for short), and of course, it's his birth we celebrate during the Solstikwanzanukkamas Season, which runs from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day.
Be warned if you choose to read this fic; you're sure to end up on the bus to the hot place if you do.

Notes: My first go at fiction anything in 12 years, so instead of dreaming something new up I've started simple with my picture of a scene I love. I hope you don't mind :)
And the Condom Goes To: Brian
He takes what he wants. But he also gives - and doesn't ask for acknowledgement.
I can learn from him. I can help without saying a word. I don't need to be told I'm brave or clever. That asshole's promise to lay off Brian is enough.
Brian's relief is palpable. He dances with me, uncharacteristically friendly. He can't know it was my doing, but his new warmth and openness say 'Thankyou' to the universe, anyone, me. He picks up my shirt as I almost lose it on the crowded floor. A chivalrous moment - but today, I'm the knight in shining armour. |

I've decided I would like to watch the beginning and the end this friday night.
So if anyone would like to join me I'll be watching episodes 101, 102, 512 and 513. I will start around 8pm EST. I hope one or two of you will drop by and join me. It's not going to be very structured or as detailed as I get when I do the full series marathon. Just me taking a look at where everybody is when we first meet them and comparing that to where they are at the end. And no doubt some squeeing.

I can't believe I've only posted like 3 times this month (not including posts in the asylums). I don't think this has ever happened before except for when I first started a journal.
Champ continues to improve. His last test results were so much better and so much closer to the normal range that I cried a little on the way home. Plus, in one week, he gained 13 ounces. So, I've decided to go ahead with my vacation plans (which I sorely need at this point). My sister is planning something special for my 40th and a dear friend is coming into town. After that, we're heading out on a road trip ending in a spa for a couple of days in Vermont. From there, we'll part company and I'll continue on to my sister's for Reason's first birthday. I'll be a few days early, but we're going to celebrate anyway.
I can finally get excited because I found someone to stay with Charger and Champ on top of my sis checking in on them.
I also decided not to cook dinner this year for Thanksgiving. I cheated and bought everything pre-made and I'm so happy about it. I'll have time to do the things I want to do. Happy sigh.
On a fandom note, I want to know something. Tell me a scene that makes you melt. It has to be a scene that causes your heart to skip a beat every single time you watch it. Post about it in your journal...or here in comments. I can't wait to see what you've got for me. :D |

Hello, this is Rebel. This is my first drabble since I went to heaven, because it took a long time to get xie_xie_xie (not her real name) to stop crying and start typing.
She was always a little slow about typing, to tell the truth.
She has been very sad and while even before she was sad she was, as I said, slow, and also sometimes took me to the veterinarian, I love her anyway and decided to write a new story about Rage the kitten to make her happy again.
Although now Rage is actually a cat.
So here is my first new Rage drabble. Happy Thanksgiving!
PS, heaven is very nice but I do miss all of you. And please stop xie_xie_xie from being sad and write lots and lots of drabbles.

The 37 Days of Gusmas
A Queer as Folk Holiday Drabble Celebration
In honor of the Solstikwanzanukkamas (Gusmas for short) Season, qaf_drabbles is having a party!
We're posting a prompt for every day from Thanksgiving Day to New Year's Day... 37 prompts in all. Some of the prompts are the holidays themselves, some are images, and some are words.
Here's how it works:
1. All the prompts are included at the end of this post -- there is no wait before you can start start writing or posting. :)
2. You can choose to be inspired by a prompt in any way, and you don't need to include the word in the drabble -- but there does need to be a connection between the prompt and your work.
3. You can post a drabble for a prompt anytime -- you're not tied to the date of the prompt. And yes, that means you can post a New Year's Eve drabble on Thanksgiving and vice versa, or post drabbles for all 37 prompts in one day. Ask anyone -- we're easy!
4. You can post any number of drabbles for any number of prompts (including one!), and you can also post multi-drabble stories of any length. You can let a single prompt inspire the whole story, or use multiple prompts for one story.

Just a random thought:
In your opinion, what relationship represents the core of the show? When I say relationship, I don't (necessarily) mean a romantic one. Rather, I'm defining it as bond between two or more characters – be it romantic, platonic, or familial. This is less an "what's your OTP" question than "if you strip everything else away, what relationship remains?"
I've heard a lot of different answers to this kind of discussion over the years, but I don't know that I've ever come up with a definitive answer on my own. For me, there are three main possibilities:
